Fact 6: Valentine's Day

Have you evert wonder how valentines started off.  Is way different compare to what we know now in days. It started of hitting females for the fun of it. Young chicks got in line to get hit then they draw there name in a jar and hooked young ladies up with random males for the night, and have sex with them. It gives a chance to meet your future wife if your lucky enough.
"The Dark Origins Of Valentine's Day" by Arnie  is more convincing the background of valentines compare to the other article "The Real History of  Valentine's Day" by Patrick Allan's. Due to the fact that this was start is ancient Rome. Which makes sense where guys are over women.  The fact that males hit women during this time period is completely okay with everyone.
Hitting women wasn't seen a bad thing so it wouldn't be such a big deal for guys to hit women. According to the "The Dark Origins Of Valentine's Day" by Arnie Seipel which states.
"one good place to start is ancient Rome, where men hit on women by, well, hitting them." ( Arnie Seipel, p. 1)  This sounds more convincing.
In "The Dark Origins Of Valentine's Day" is also quotes.
"The couple would then be, um, coupled up for the duration of the festival — or longer, if the match was right." ( Arnie Seipel, p. 1)
This is Ancient Rome so hooking up like this might be normal for them. Is a way to have sex with females and meeting your future wife if your lucky enough. In the article "The Real History of  Valentine's Day" by Patrick Allan's. It also states the same thing of having sex with females and having fun. Is. A fun way of hooking up.
"Men drew women’s names randomly from a jar and then they would be, uh, “coupled” during the duration of the festival. Now that is a holiday." (Patrick Allan's,p 2)
This was convincing enough due to the fact that it didn't talked about hitting women during this time period. In conclusion, "The Dark Origins Of Valentine's Day" by Arnie  is more convincing for the background of valentines compare to the other article "The Real History of  Valentine's Day" by Patrick Allan's. It makes more sense for that time period.

  1. Good job using quotes as supporting evidence for your statements. I also liked your picture. Things to improve would be the spacing between each paragraph. Also, review the MLA rules about citation. You don't have to type a p, as to note the page #, just type the #. Also don't type the author's full name, you just need the last name.
